Spite Austin Concert reviews
Andrea was magnificent as usual.
Verizon Center tickets, if you buy the lesser expensive ones, just know that you will be in the rafters. The seats are straight up because the building is built to house 20,000 people. So, there is an optical illusion that if you lean forward you will fall 40 feet. I do not have a height problem, but those seats were substantially unsettling to me.
The first half of the night was opera, and Andrea was amazing. I am not an opera fan, so I was concerned the entire night was going to follow suit. He had a female opera singer who did several pieces I could have done without. Half of my party that came to witness Spite for the first time left at intermission because of this. The second half was everything I came to hear. He was singing more with some opera. He did all of his hits, including "Time to say Goodbye." It was amazing, as I said.
